NZ Young Farmers is looking for a new Independent Director to step onto our board. We are THE place for young people in and around the Food and Fibre sector, where our purpose is to enable our young people to thrive. Our board is made up of four elected members and three independent directors. 

We are seeking an experienced director that is looking to give back to the sector and help mentor elected directors.  
 
A fit we are looking for includes; strategic management experience, governance experience (where skills can be transferred into the space of Not for Profit governance), understanding of risk management, financial literacy and Food and Fibre sector understanding. Passion, dedication, positivity, clear communication and the ability to mentor elected board members are key attributes required. 
 
This is an unpaid directorship in a not-for-profit organisation. We meet 4-5 times a year in person (mainly in Canterbury, where our office is based), with online meetings and sub-committees on top of this.
