The FMG Young Farmer of the Year is New Zealand's premier agricultural competition, showcasing the talents, skills, and knowledge of young farmers from across the country.
For over 50 years, this iconic event has celebrated the best and brightest in the industry, providing a platform for young farmers to demonstrate their expertise, leadership, and passion for agriculture.

FMG Young Farmer of the Year
Young Farmers members vie for the ultimate farming title: FMG Young Farmer of the Year. Winners from the District Contests advance to one of seven Regional Finals, where the finalists are determined for the prestigious Grand Final.
FMG Junior Young Farmer of the Year
High school students participate in the FMG Junior Young Farmer of the Year Contest, competing in pairs to tackle various modules focused on the food and fibre sector.

Contest History
Since Contest's inception in 1969, we have seen many Young Farmers from across the food and fibre sector battle it out for the title of 'Young Farmer of the Year'. View the previous year's results, as well as our full list of winners.
