This highly anticipated event brings together some of the brightest young minds in the food and fibre sector. 

Contestants will be put through their paces with a series of practical tasks and theoretical challenges, all designed to test their understanding of the food and fibre sector and their ability to excel in a high-pressure environment.

The Challenges

Contestants will be put through their paces with a series of practical tasks and theoretical challenges, all designed to test their understanding of the food and fibre sector and their ability to excel in a high-pressure environment.

Exam

The contestants’ first challenge will be a 1 hour written exam where theoretical skills will be tested.  

Modules

Contestants will complete a series of modules on Practical Day hosted by our sponsors and supporters. Each team will complete seven 15-minute modules.

Farmlet

Contestants will have two hours to complete a set of practical, hands-on tasks. They'll be marked on their ability as well as the quality of the task.

Speech

Teams will deliver a five minute speech on a speech topic given to the teams before the event. This will be done during their Farmlet.

Face-Off

The top five teams will move to Face-Off on Friday night. The Face-Off is a fast-paced quiz, much like FMG Young Farmer of the Year buzzer quiz.
