Meet some of our Season 54 Convenors
Zac Thomas
Waitane Young Farmers
Otago Southland Regional Final Convenor
Why did you sign up to be a Convenor?
“I enjoy the challenge and adrenaline of competing, as well as the learning opportunities it provides. I want to ensure that the competition remains at a high standard, and I aim to provide excellent competitor experiences. I greatly appreciate the leadership development afforded by convening competitions, and hope that this will continue in my time in NZYF.”
Louise Ford
Auckland Young Farmers
Northern Regional Final Convenor
Why did you sign up to be a Convenor?
“I’ve wanted to convene a regional final for ages. I’ve wanted to be more involved with a Regional Final without having the skills to be a serious contestant in the competition and it sounded like a fun challenge and a great way to meet people outside of my own club.”
Kate Stewart
Fitzherbert Young Farmers
Taranaki Manawatu Regional Final Convenor
Why did you sign up to be a Convenor?
“I would like to be a part of putting on a successful event for our community at the Central District Field Days. I had the best time competing in the regional final last year and see having our event at Field Days as a great opportunity to show more people how fantastic contest really is.”
It's a Team Effort
From safety judges, timekeepers, scorers and everything in between, it takes a team of Young Farmers to organise and run these iconic events, under the leadership of our Convenors.
Celebrating
We have a range of options for organisations to get involved in NZYF and show their support for the next generation of decision-makers. Whether you’re a small business or a larger operation, we can develop a partnership through our initiatives to fit your strategic direction.
