Aorangi: District Contest Info

A BBQ lunch will be available for all contestants. 

ROUND ALLOCATION

Please arrive by 7:30am to receive your contestant shirt and cap, before a briefing at 7:45am. 

The below module round will begin at 8:00am:

ITEMS TO ACTION

Please go through the below documents and complete the Health and Safety Induction and Waiver of Liability before arriving to the contest. You won't be able to compete until you've done so.

MAP & ENTRY

All contestants please enter through Gate 1 on Mount John Road, as this is where your name will be on a list receive your complimentary entry into the event. Once parked, head towards the NZYF Marquee to the right side of the Main Ring where you will receive your contestant shirt, hat and briefing. 

All FMG Young Farmer of the Year Aorangi District Contestants will receive a complimentary ticket to enter the Southern Canterbury A&P Show. All other attendees/ spectators must purchase a ticket to enter, and tickets are $15 per person. 

CLOTHING

Each contestant will receive a Bushbuck shirt and FMG hat to wear. You must wear these at all times while competing, however feel free to layer to stay warm. Please wear plain black shorts or trousers without any visible logos (it's fine to cover them up with black tape)

Please check the weather forecast and dress appropriately. Every person on site must wear closed-toed shoes.

PRIZES

The top 8 contestants will receive a cash prize and will qualify to compete at the Regional Final. 

MEDIA

We'll be taking photos and videos throughout the day to use for marketing purposes. Please let the NZYF staff member on site know if you do not want to be in any photos or videos.
