At NZ Young Farmers, we know the future of food and fibre in New Zealand rests in the hands of passionate, skilled, and connected young people. With over 60 clubs nationwide and just over 1,600 members, our organization and the members within it have already been creating strong communities and opportunities for the next generation for almost 100 years. But, we also know there’s significant room to grow, and that’s where our new Gift a Membership initiative comes in.
Gift a Membership is a simple way for businesses, employers, and individuals to support young people across rural New Zealand. By covering the cost of a membership, you’re doing far more than paying a fee, you’re opening doors to career and leadership development, helping to build peer networks and friendships, and fostering resilience and wellbeing in rural communities. A membership gives a young person the chance to connect, thrive, and contribute not just to their local club, but to the wider food and fibre sector.
CEO of NZ Young Farmers, Cheyne Gillooly says
"For businesses, this initiative is a great entry point to supporting the future of agriculture. It’s an opportunity to give back to a local community, add value to employees, and invest in the young people who will go on to lead and grow the sector. Whether that’s backing a local club or region, acknowledging hardworking volunteers, or giving a hand to those facing hardship. Every contribution directly strengthens our rural communities and the people who keep them thriving".
This contribution not only goes into directly supporting an individual but depending on the support this could go towards an entire club and those members within it. That's a big value add to a small community when their Young Farmers club is supported in this way.
So ,whether you’re looking for a meaningful way to support your staff, to make a difference in your region, or to contribute to the growth of the food and fibre sector, Gift a Membership is the chance to have a real impact. Together, it's a great way to bring more young people into our clubs, and ensure the future of agriculture remains strong, connected, and vibrant.
