Ed Laver is a 29-year-old farmer, adventure racer, and chairperson of the Puketoi Young Farmers Club, currently preparing for the FMG Young Farmer of the Year Grand Final while also expecting his first child.
Raised on a deer, sheep and beef farm in Weber, Hawke’s Bay, farming has always been a natural path. After training at Smedley Station and studying agriculture at Lincoln University, he returned home to farm alongside his father.
Ed recently won the East Coast Regional Final, earning his place at the Grand Final, and is balancing preparation with full-time farm work and club commitments.
He brings a practical, steady approach and is focused on learning, improving, and making the most of the opportunity ahead.
