The aim of the stock judging Tournament is to develop an interest and skill level of stock assessment in young people and this generation of farmers. The ability to be a good judge of stock is a skill that can be easily learnt by competing in stock judging tournament.
The skills learnt here will provide a lifetime of benefits for future stock assessment abilities.
Primarily the sections consist of Beef Cattle, Dairy Cattle, Meat & Wool Sheep Breeds, and Wool fleece and run in accordance with the Royal Agriculture Society Rules.
At club and district level tournament the emphasis is on learning the basics. It is a good idea to organise and hold a club skills day, invite current or past stock assessors to help with this. A&P Show Society Judges are a good source of knowledge. There is no substitute for practice in this tournament.
The first, second and third placed qualifier in each regional final will qualify for the Grand Final.
