TUANZ Rural Broadband Symposium

New Zealand’s rural sector is the backbone of our economy, yet rural New Zealand as a place to live is in decline. Every day 50 new Aucklanders take up residence, but in the rest of the country we face declining populations and the reduced spending on infrastructure that follows. New Zealand has a rich and varied landscape, from ocean to lake, from mountain to plateau, yet for some reason we end up living in the city.

New Zealand is apparently facing a choice about its future ? continue to move to Auckland or continue to leave in droves for Australia, but there is a third way: let’s encourage people to live in rural and remote parts of the country.

TUANZ invites you to its fifth annual Rural Broadband Symposium bringing together the rural businesses and communities, central and local government and technology providers. Attendees will be able to debate the challenges and opportunities provided by the rural broadband initiative. In particular, the symposium will provide a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between broadband providers and rural users and to explore opportunities for collaboration.

TUANZ have offered NZYF members a special deal of $400.00 + gst for the two day conference which includes breakfast!!

The conference programme and accommodation registration form are available to be downloaded.
