Andrew Wiffen, of the Renwick Young Farmers Club has been selected for the annual NZYF exchange to Scotland with the Scottish Association of Young Farmers Clubs (SAYFC).
Mr Wiffen is thrilled at the prospect of travelling and this will be his first time to Europe.
“I’m pretty excited to get to see the roots of New Zealand agriculture and see the different breeds of animals,” said Mr Wiffen.
The six week exchange begins June 20th in Edinburgh and is timed to coincide with the Royal Highland Show.
“The exchange is a great opportunity for a member to sample different farming practices and meet like-minded people, while being hosted by five different families,” said Duncan Trotter, Network Manager.
“Andrew was chosen for his involvement in and understanding of NZYF together with his broad experience in a variety of farming practices both here and in Australia,” said Mr Trotter.
Mr Wiffen also commented, “NZYF is a good organisation to be part of, there are lots of opportunities and what you put into it is what you get out of it.”
