Stock Judging Competition

The Stock Judging Competition is competed at club through to national level, which is held in conjunction with the FMG Young Farmer of the Year Grand Final.

The aim of the stock judging competition is to develop an interest and skill level of stock assessment in young people and this generation of farmers.  The ability to be a good judge of stock is a skill that can be easily learnt by competing in stock judging competitions.

At club and district level competitions the emphasis is on learning the basics. It is a good idea to organise and hold a club skills day, invite current or past stock assessors to help with this. A&P Show Society Judges are a good source of knowledge. There is no substitute for practice in this competition.
